Someone please help on this problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the value of x for which (x+1)^2 + (x^2 + 3x + 2)^2 +(x^2 + 4x + 3 )^2 = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got the answer as -1 i don't know if it is correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You want every one of the equations to equal 0 to get 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes , I factorised the problem and then made a number line and found out the critical points so is my answer correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got-1 as the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is one way or you can do what @jtryon said

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[(x+1)^2=0,x=-1\\ (x^2 + 3x + 2)^2=0, x=-1,-2\\ (x^2 + 4x + 3 )^2=0,x=-1,-3\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they will all be zero if \(x=-1\)
