Is it weird to turn in fanfiction as long as it meets the writing prompt standards?

If you wrote the fic yourself, then I don't see the problem with it.

No, as long as you don't use the original authors work.
It really depends on if it's fanfiction or a wattpad story made by you. You would have to at least put a disclaimer and probably change a bit of it including names places and major events. :) You have a fanfiction account? :):):)
