I have seen the request for OpenStudy notifications to make a sound, I had some free time (procrastination) so I threw together a userscript that does this. Need notification sound for OpenStudy? UserScript that supplies this down below. https://gist.github.com/KamiIntelligence/41f437fd918790eb769f/raw/3f7d7ac49519b3b67e4fcbdeb1c9b7f76b435786/kmikazuki_os_sound_notification.user.js How to install a userscript? http://userscripts.org:8080/about/installing Note: Normally I would provide the userscript via userscripts.org but currently that site is down unless you access it from port 8080 which is just plain bad moderation on their behalf so until that site gets their stuff together, you can download via GitHub. (Which supports HTTPs. ;-)) UserScripts.org mirror link: http://userscripts.org:8080/scripts/source/487025.user.js

Awesome work! @Opcode² @mathslover Try this!

mathslover (mathslover):

Thanks @AravindG for tagging me here. @opcode(2) - Nice work but unfortunately, I am unable to hear any type of sound whenever I get notified (like when I receive a message, I don't hear any sound).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mathslover Sorry about that, I forgot that I had my other GitHub account to auto-commit which accidentally changed some stuff. I have put back up the working version. :-)

mathslover (mathslover):

It's still not working for me!

You only get the notification sound when the OpenStudy window is not focused. So say I was switched to another tab like Google. Since I am not focused on the OpenStudy tab, a notification sound should play. If you are focused on the OpenStudy tab, no sound will play. Try switching to a different tab (any tab is fine, as long as it is not OpenStudy) and have someone PM you, you should hear a chime.

mathslover you didn't tag the right person. XD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I exist on Opcode and Opcode², tagging either one normally catches my attention. No worries.

oh okay :)
