I'm supposed to be using something called IDLE. When I open python it doesnt look like the screenshots of IDLE. How do I get IDLE

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To get IDLE, just download python.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Are you only getting one window? Yu may need to use the open a new file command. http://www.annedawson.net/Python_Editor_IDLE.htm

Once you download and install Python, do a search on your PC for IDLE. The application should pop up to run.

Are you using windows or Linux for your development environment?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I had trouble locating IDLE in Windows 7. It turns out IDLE was installed with python but I couldn't find it in the installation directory of python anywhere. It is however, available in the start menu entry for python. See picture attachment:

Also, once you open IDLE go to File/New Window to bring up the text editor.
