Hello OS Users/Mods, as I am sure most of you may not remember me or know me but I was once User/Moderator "SWAG" I have come on every now and than as I do not have any time like before, I have noticed SEVERAL new users here but NONE of them seem to be even remotely aware of the 'Code Of Conduct'. I feel like this should start being enforced much more and maybe even make a bulletin for it on the main page for a few days. We all need to keep in mind this is a place to learn and we need to keep it a clean learning environment if we want it to grow and succeed.

OpenStudy (xmoses1):

Did your moderatorship expire? .-.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol no I made a new account to start fresh and get away from the childish name "SWAG"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am currently waiting this one to be Modded.

OpenStudy (xmoses1):

Ah I see :) If i were in your position i would have done the same. And that post just answered my next question :p

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

We have been coming up with several ideas on how to promote the rules. It's all in the works currently. It will be discussed in further meetings/gatherings.

OpenStudy (xmoses1):

I do agree with you in part of the CoC though. It has gotten way out of hand

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am happy to hear it has been a topic lately, but than again I been here over 3 years and I hear the same thing every time. Literally. Things need to get a little stricter OR the CoC needs to be in plain sight of these 'New Users' I see lately.

OpenStudy (xmoses1):

I personally think that it should be stricter. The consequences are too lack for the 'rebellious' crowd

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

Well you could do the easy step and pop into chats reminding the rules, or go into some threads and just post some of the rules, or message certain users. It may not seem like much, but it could help a lot. I dedicate hours each day to just reminding users of the rules.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Trust me @beccaboo333 I do the same thing, I try my hardest, I did it not to long ago and a user stated "I'm tired of hearing about that stupid CoC".......Which proves they do not respect the rules or respect the users.

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

hey @NikkoK nice to have u back....i kind of agree with u...i have seen users who dont care about the coc because they think dat if one account is suspended they could make aother one in minutes! i also agree with @beccaboo333 ...wat she suggested works out sometimes..i have tried dat...

thomaster (thomaster):

New and better moderation tools are in development, think of ways to get rid of trolls without them having the ability to create a new account within seconds. Also chat moderation tools are a topic, along with better account registration to prevent the endless suspend > new account cycles. As OS is a small company, this won't all be happening in 1 day, but I expect the first updates within a few months.

OpenStudy (xmoses1):

I think that we should make it so that the chats cant be used by someone who has an SS of under 30. This might keep the trolls down.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

I wish they had a shorter character buffer in chat. 600 is overkill. 200 is fine for links and small messages.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You could limit two accounts to an email. Then they can't just create another one using more than one email. I say two as the limit because some siblings have to share an email. Like am and my twin sister. :)

thomaster (thomaster):

email addresses are always limited to 1 openstudy account.
