Ads pay for part of the website's upkeep. Changing the number of ads is a balance between OpenStudy's budget and users' interests. So I don't know if they will reduce the number of ads, but they are there for a reason other than to pester you. I do believe the subscription service does remove all the ads as well, and it also helps OpenStudy out!
