A card is drawn from a deck of 52. Find the probability of drawing a red card (hearts or diamonds) or a face card (jack, queen, or king).
I thought it was 6/13 cause there is 12 red cards and 12 face cards.. 24/52 = 6/13. But that wasnt right.
Actually, there are 26 red cards in a deck of 52. There are 12 face cards, however 6 of those face cards are also red cards. So don't count them twice. The correct answer is more likely (26 + 6)/52 or 15/26
thanks but that is incorrect too. the denominator has 13. But thanks for helping out.
I'm sorry. I can't add today. 26 + 6 =32 So it would be 32/52 or 8/13
