OpenStudy (unbelievabledreams):

It's fine. Did you know who is good at math?

@iPwnBunnies

Roots means that the function equals 0 at those x values. So, we build our function like this: f(x) = (x + 2)(x + 2)(x -5) I used (x+2) twice b/c it says the multiplicity is 2. And, as you see, if you plug -2 in for x, it'll equal 0. So the value of the function will be 0.

thanks bunnies for the help

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Yw. The same goes with the 5. If you plug 5 into the (x-5) factor, that will equal 0, so the entire thing will equal 0.
