I'd prefer, if some one could explain how to do that problem and guide me through it.

Like you know the circle is of 360 degrees.
If you do 360-170 you will get 190 which the measure of the rest of the other arc.

Now as you know that the angle is half the measure of the arc,then you will do 190/2 to get the angle.
The angle is 95 degrees and thats how you will get y...!
