help me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[(-4)\times (-4)\times (-4)\]

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

So it would be C.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got some more

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

Follow what @satellite73 did.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

-5x^4 -5(-2)^4 -5(-16) 80

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

try out all the options and multiply the bases by their exponents, check which one will give you the result of 125.

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

The answer is D. But do you know how to do it?

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

5*5*5=125

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya 5*5*5=125

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

Okay :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

What do they have both in common?

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

list all the factors of 24 and 44 and see which ones are in common. that would be the "shortest" trick as far as what i know.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 2 4 12

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

no. 44 is not divisible by 12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh m g

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

you will have 3 and a remainder of 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so c

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

No...

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

nope try again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

please don't try to guess, do the work

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

yes b is correct

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

Yes!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my bad me no very smart

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

it's okay. try and you will get it :)

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

you have any other questions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

do you know how to do a factor tree

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"b i think it is" said yoda

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

lets see if you are correct: well we know that 5 squared equals to 5*5=25 and then multiply that by 2 = 50 and then multiply that by 7 = 350 so maybe not b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did 5*2 my bad

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

no problem that is a common mistake. remember that 5 is the base and the 2 is exponent and you have to multiply the base as many times as the exponent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"c i think it is" said Yoda

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

yes you are correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no Yoda correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

okay if you say so ;)

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

Yes!!! 2*2*5*7 4*5*7 20*7=140

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

prime numbers have factors that are only 1 and itself.

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

which one seems to have that ?

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

Which number can't be multiplied by anything else rather that 1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

d

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

yes

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

You always beat me...lol :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

Which one do you think?

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

The answer is A because they only have 1 in common.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much peoples

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

Okay :)
