Which answer best describes the verb tenses in the sentence? By the time we got to Austin, the puppy falls asleep in the back of the van. A. The verb tenses shift. B. The verb tenses are consistent. Can you explain what this means also? :)

OpenStudy (gir_lover_♥):

The verb tense in the first part is different than the verb tense in the second part. So which answer would best be correct

OpenStudy (gir_lover_♥):

Shift means for the verb tense to change and consistent means for the verb tense to stay the same. Verb tense is what kind of verb is being used as like future tense past tense or present tense.
