SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
question?
WHAT IS THE DOMAIN OF THE FOLLOWING PARABOLA All real numbers x ≥ 1 x ≤ 2 y ≥ -3
Domain is all possible values of x. so domain is \[(-\infty;\infty)\] all real numbers
oh thank you! um..... another? :)
sure why not.
Which of the following tables shows the correct steps to transform x2 + 4x + 3 = 0 into the form (x - p)2 = q? [p and q are integers] A.Step 1 x2 + 4x + 3 + 1 = 0 + 1 Step 2 x2 + 4x + 4 = 1 Step 3 (x + 2)2 = 1 B.Step 1 x2 + 4x + 3 - 1 = 0 - 1 Step 2 x2 + 4x + 2 = -1 Step 3 (x + 2)2 = -1 c. Step 1 x2 + 4x + 3 - 2 = 0 - 2 Step 2 x2 + 4x + 1 = -2 Step 3 (x + 2)2 = -2 d. Step 1 x2 + 4x + 3 + 2 = 0 + 2 Step 2 x2 + 4x + 5 = 2 Step 3 (x + 2)2 = 2
formula is (x + a)^2 = x^2 + 2ax + a^2 so x^2 + 4x + 3 + 1 = 1 x^2 + 4x + 4 = 1 (x + 2)^2 = 1
thanks! um i actually need a lot more questions answered i hope you don't mind ive been trying to do them myself but i just cant..:(
I understand. I have 1 final exam left myself so ill try to help.
thank you!
um hold on....
The graph below shows a company's profit f(x), in dollars, depending on the price of pens x, in dollars, being sold by the company. Part A: What do the x-intercepts and maximum value of the graph represent? What are the intervals where the function is increasing and decreasing and what do they represent about the sale and profit? (5 points) Part B: If at one time the profit of the company was at least sixty dollars, what domain could possibly produce this profit? (2 points) Part C: What is an approximate average rate of change of the graph from x = 3 to x = 5 and what does this rate represent? (3 points)
srry about this......
hmm. Maximum will represent the optimal price for pens. Instersections with x are points where the profit will equal 0 probably. (0 0) point shows that 0 pens sold for 0 price give 0 profit.
B if profit was at leas 60 then by grapf we see that it is domain from 1 to 5.
okay.. my test just locked me out because i left the page so idk i have to wait for my teacher to reset it so i dont have any more Qs
average rate of change = f(b) - f(a)/b - a thus \[\frac{60-120}{ 5 - 3 } = \frac{-60 }{2} = -30\]
:)
i gtg. :(
good luck.
