how many cells does mitosis invloved for division

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There is only one cell division during mitosis. Mitosis produces 2 genetically identical diploid daughter cells. In meiosis there are two cell division stages. During the first one, 2 cells are produced. These two cells divide again and produce four haploid daughter cells which are not genetically identical. Mitosis: Divides once making two cells and Meiosis: Divides twice making 4 cells, but meiosis only occurs in sex cells...Hope it helps:))
