Attacking Afghanistan was the proper response but Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. And we stayed in Afghanistan too long once we missed Osama Bin Laden in Tora Bora we blew our chances of getting him and the reasons we stayed to put in a government and rebuild the country had nothing to do with 9/11 so we should have left. We should have gone in after Bin Laden ourselves instead of letting The Norther Alliance do it. It was our main mission in Afghanistan to get him and it was our job to do it. We are accomplishing more with Drones in Yemen against Al Qaeda than all the years we wasted in Afghanistan building schools and bridges which the Taliban destroy. We should keep boots off the ground in the Middle East. The Europeans are more connected with that region and so is India. We wasted lives equipment and money there for over ten years now and have very little to show for it. We should have put our efforts into bettering our relations South of the Border because while we have ignored South America, Central America and Mexico Iran has moved in there and there are probably militants in Mexico infiltrating our borders ready to attack us.
