Medals!!! How does a physical change obey the law of conservation of mass? How does a chemical change obey the law of conservation of mass?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Physical changes just alter the appearance shape or state in which matter is in so the amount of matter does not change at all thereby satisfying the law of conservation of mass. Chemical changes just change the properties of the matter (ex. Burning wood, you still have all the matter, but it is jus in a new form of ashes and gases and soot released into the air therefore satisfying the law of conservation of mass also. -Austin
