Factor 4x^2 - 20x + 25 A. (2x - 5)(5x + 2) B. (2x - 5)(2x - 5) C. (x + 5)(4x - 5)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Think, or just expand each option and see which one is equivalent. Either way works.

He is offline, whether this is fortunate or not.

@SolomonZelman , I don't think you understand why I am here. I'm on this website posting my question because I don't know how to answer it, nor do I know how to solve it. I'm not looking for an answer, I am looking for help in finding out how to solve it since my teacher isn't doing a good job in explaining to me how, and I can't find solutions on the internet. Telling me to "Think" about it is not helping me, and being rude to me isn't helping either. If you're not going to help, please, "help" on someone else's question before I report you.

Factor 4x^2 - 20x + 25 multiply first and the last numbers. that is 4 and 25 we get 100, coefficient of middle term is -20 , we have to find two numbers having addition -20 and multiplication gives 100. so we get -10 and -10 which gives us -10 -10 =-20 and -10*-10 = 100. so we write this as 4x^2 -10x -10x +25 common factor from first two terms is 2x we get 2x(2x -5) -10x +25 common factor from last two terms is -5 so we get 2x(2x-5)-5(2x-5) so we get by distributive property (2x-5)(2x-5) so the final answer is B (2x-5)(2x-5)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I think that I have given you a good tip, based on what my expectation of you should be.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@SolomonZelman This is a website for helping students learn and study with other people who know what they're talking about. I am not good at math, nor have I ever said I was. I try my best to learn, but sometimes it's not good enough. I come on here, through the hours that my teacher is not available, and I try to have people help me solve the problem, like the person above. You don't know me, therefore your "expectations of me" are invalid. You should be on this website to help other students learn the subjects they need help in, not criticize them for not knowing how to do something.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Don't tell me what this website is for, I know better, today is my 139th day on here. it is for students to get help with their questions, once they have a proper comeback and once they learned something about how to do their problems.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

This is not a take-a-course website.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I MEANT, proper background, not comeback .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Don't worry, @SolomonZelman , You've been reported. I hope you have a nice day. (:

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I would like to know the reason for your report. I am curious, because I am not doing anything bad what so ever. Don't just report everyone, or you might get a warning.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@SolomonZelman , You are the only person I've reported on this website since I have joined. Everyone else has been extremely helpful and made my time on this website enjoyable.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Interesting... but I don't think it is a reason to report, just because I am not as good of a helper as others , as you think, although, people thank me all the time. ...but why do I even bother replying? I know the TRUTH is on my side. I am just a teenager and I get mad fast like any other kid, but all I know that I am right. I don't want to argue anymore. You'll see who is right and who is wrong.
