Find the difference and simplify. x+1/x-4 (-) x+3/x+2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Establish a common denominator. Multiply the 1st term by x +2/x + 2 and the 2nd term by x-4/x-4 So we end up with: (x + 1)(x + 2) - (x+3)(x-4)/ (x - 4)(x + 2) Which becomes (x^2 + 3x + 2 - x^2 +x + 12)/ x^2 - 2x -8 And simplifies into: (2x + 14)/(x^2 - 2x - 8)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A. 2(x^2+2x+7)/(x-4)(x+2) B. x+1/(x-4)(x+2) C. 2(2x+7)/(x-4)(x+2) D. (x+1)(x+3)/(x-4)(x+2)
