find the missing factor 6y^2+11y+5=(y+1) ( ) I really need help please help me !!!!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its both answer or I have to pick

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

\[6y^2+11y+5\]6*5 = 30, two factors of 30 that add to 11 are 6,5 \[6y^2+6y+5y+5\]\[(6y^2+6y) + (5y+5)\]\[6y(y+1) + 5(y+1)\]\[(y+1)(6y+5)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok so the answer is 6y^2+11y+5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its actually 6y+5

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

the answer isn't \(6y^2+11y+5\) — that was the thing you were supposed to factor! I showed you how to factor it into \(6y^2+11y+5 = (6y+5)(y+1)\) so \((6y+5)\) was the missing factor that answers the question
