con que?

What's wrong Kellie?
:D tag teaming with the Satellite again!!!
o.O Satellite, you're feeling stupid?
I feel, lazy and tired... XD
Letty has $5 in nickels,dimes, and quarters. She has 3 times as many nickels as dimes. She has 5 times as much money in quarters as she does in nickels. How many of each does she have?? .05n + .10d + .25q = 5.00 -- (100) 5n + 10d + 25q = 500 n = 3d q = 5n --> q = 5(3d) --> q = 15d when I sub all my d's in, I am getting the final result as a fraction where am I messing up
d=3n, but good start
see.. 5(3d) + 10d + 25(15d) = 500 15d + 10d + 375d = 500 400d = 500 d = 4/5
She has 3 times as many nickels as dimes Does she have more nickels or dimes?
nickels.....n = 3d....??
uhm, I mean put d in terms of n not the other way around.... sorry that was nonsense before
d=1/3 n was what I meant
oh...use the d = 1/3n and the q = 5n instead of the d's ?
ea, but also let's think about that other one too "She has 5 times as much money in quarters as she does in nickels." to me that means 5(n*.05)=q*.25
she has 5 times as many quarters as nickels....Isn't that q = 5n ??
no, 5 times as much \(\color{red}{money}\)
hmmm..I guess that isn't the same. so q = what ?
["She has 5 times as much money in quarters as she does in nickels." to me that means 5(n*.05)=q*.25]
if you take the decimals out, would be 5(5n) = 25q : 25n = 25q ??
not quite, can't take the decimals out like that
so I shouldn't take the decimals out in the equation I multiplied by 100 ?
you would, get 500 not 5
\[\color{blue}{5} (.05n)=.25q\]
ohhh...I see now...thank you so much :)
