can anyone please help with a few geometry problems?
find the lateral area and surface area. round to the nearest tenth.
we already got the surface area right?
\[S.A.=\pi \times r(r+\sqrt{h ^{2}+r ^{2}})\]Then, just find the are of the circle and subtract that to get the lateral area.
is the height 24?
Now that you mention it, I don't know if that is the slant height or regular height.
thats why i was confused
cause i thought the height was like measured righ thought the middle top to bottom
i also got 520.47 using that as the height and its not one of my answer choices
Yeah, well let's call it the slant height. If that is the slant height, then the regular height is about 21.33
so 475.54?
64****
For what, the surface area?
yeah
That's pretty off. What are your answer choices for surface area.
my radius is 5.5 though right? or is it 11 and it'd be 1209.49
yeah thats what it is lol oopss
i thought 11 was the diameter
diameter is the entire line
Yeah, 11 is the radius. I got 1208.77 for the surface area, so close enough.
Now find the lateral area.
i dont know how!! is there a formula for it
Do you know the formula for the area of a circle.
I have to go, but find the area of the circle and subtract it from the surface area, then you get the answer. 1208.77-area of circle= lateral area
okay thanks !
380.1 ???
I'm back for a minute. Yes, 379.94, so: 1208.77-379.94=?
828.83
Yes. So: Surface Area: 1208.77 Lateral Area: 828.83
thanks for helping!!
your welcome. :)
