PLEASE HELP!!!! Algebra 2. Two number cubes are rolled --one blue and one yellow. Find the probability that the blue cube is less than 3 and the product is 8. Enter your answer in simplified fraction form; example: 3/20.

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

how many numbers are less than 3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 and 2

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

ok, and what is the probability of getting a 1, 2 or 3 on a roll?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but it says less than x<3 so 2/6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x<3 the number is less then three

@FibonacciChick666

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

good, (i like poeple to do a similar problem to start) but you corrected first

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the first cube is 2/6 and the product has to be equal to 8 which means you have to roll a 4 on the second cube. so its 2/6*1/6 1/6 because theres is a one in sixth chance your going to roll a four

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

now, how many ways are there to get a product of 8?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3/36

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when simplified, 1/12 correct?

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

wait, I'm wondering on that 1/6 from before 2/6*1/6=?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha my bad i added and multipled *2/36

OpenStudy (anonymous):

therefore the answer would be 1/13

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

13?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its not my day _-_ im tired

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

better

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

haha And I know the feeling
