How long have you been an American?

Individual responsibility, honesty, democracy, fairness, like to complain about government, especially congress and the president. Willing to help other people. generous. Willing pitch in and help but not if the government is organizing it.

I was born American. I just have to write about my experience and how the core values have affected me, I don't exactly have anything to compare it to, I've tried reading some short stories about people that moved from somewhere else, but I'm still not sure, I'm having trouble writing this and I'm not sure which values would be the best and... It's confusing. o.o

If it's based on your experience then just right what you know. Think about your family. What do your parents, grandparents etc. value? How do you know they value those things.

That would work. If it's a short story you can retell an incident from your life. Change any facts you want.

It could be your parents kept you working on a project when you wanted to give up. And now you're glad they did.
