7x + 6= 3x -2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x= -2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do I get x=-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

combine like terms

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Use the idea of "balance" to solve the equation @Mdorsey5083

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and get x by itself

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Whatever you do to one side of the equation do the exact same thing to the other.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

get the x variables to one side and the numbers to the other. add thm up and at the end you will devide both sides with the constant of x

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

$$\Huge 7x + 6= 3x -2$$ $$\Huge 7x + 6-3x= 3x -2-3x$$

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

$$\Huge 4x + 6= -2$$

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):
