Well, we know for a fact that it can't be 4 or 4.4 because if you overlap line C over line B, line C stretches out farther than line B. And line C is 5, so B has to be 5.8 or 6.

c^2 = a^2 + b^2 manipulate the equation and equate to b b^2 = c^2 - a^2 b^2 = 5^2 - 3^2 b = sqrt(25 - 9) = sqrt(16) = 4
