Hey Guys, I am working on Geometry and I have to do a portfolio about circles. It's my last portfolio and after this I just have to take the unit test and final exam. But I have NO idea how to do this portfolio. I have tried and tried and have no clue. With the whole thing!! I really want to get it done and was wondering if someone can do it for me or just help me with it, I'm clueless and really need to get it done today. There is 2 activities and then 4 exercise questions after that.
Here is Activity 1 Step 1 - Use A compass. Draw a circle on tracing paper. Step 2 - use a straightedge. Draw two radii. Step 3 - Set your compass to a distance shorter than the radii. Place it's point at the center of the circle. Make two congruent segments, one on each radius. Step 4 - Fold a line perpendicular to each radius at the point marked on the radius. Now the questions are 1.) How do you find the distance between a point and a line? 2.) Each perpendicular contains a chord. Compare the lengths of the chords. 3.) Make a Conjecture, What is the relationship among the lengths of the chords that are equidistant from the center of a circle? 4.) Write a proof of your conjecture from question 3 or give a counterexample.
