I need some ideas please! This project was given to me yesterday: Rewrite Dracula, by Bram Stoker, into a child appropriate picture book. Absolutely no blood, prefer no actual death and at most rated PG-13.

So far I have that everyone is ladybugs and instead of getting drained of blood their spots are being stolen. When they get sick they turn grey, when they die they can't fly, but i don't know what to do when they go cut off lucy's head? Thanks in advance!

This sounds fun! I'd say since you're going with the theme of ladybugs to maybe make Lucy into a doll..maybe a barbie (since the head can pop off). Maybe the doll is in some sort of garden because it got lost and the ladybugs launch an attack at the doll(Lucy) and her head pops off and shes dead. OR maybe make Lucy some sort of flower or plant that when attacked by the ladybugs, the leaves or petals fall off symbolizing the head being cut off but in a more friendly way?
