ow do i factor 2x^2-21+40 ( 4x-?)(x+?)

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Which methods of factoring binomials have worked for you before? 1) factoring by grouping 2) quadratic formula 3) synthetic division 4) long division Please double-check the polynomial you've posted here. Seems to me that something's missing.

quadratic formula 2x^2 -21+ 40

OpenStudy (mathmale):

something is still missiong from your polynomial. Check again to ensure that you've copied everything down. Once you have this polynomial (actually, a trinomial), identify a, b and c. Then substitute your values for a, b and c into the quadratic equation, to solve for x.

ok I will check
