Add and subtract similar terms, using the numbers out front. So, x^2 goes together. X's go together. And the numbers by themselves go together.

SO, #1: We got a 16x^2 and a -15x^2. If you add them (which is subtraction), you'll get x^2 in the final answer. There's a 2x and 14x. Add them, you get 16x. Finally, a 2 and a -1. Add them, you get 1. So, the final answer is x^2 + 16x + 1
