Can someone help me with this one please! I think A? Which sentence uses a verb that agrees with its subject? A.Some students at the library are meeting to study. B.A yellow cake with chocolate frosting spread between the layers are Angela's choice. C.The containers on the shelves of the refrigerator holds leftovers. D.The instructor for the afternoon exercise classes are funny and energetic. D.The instructor for the afternoon exercise classes are funny and energetic.

If you look at the options and put the subject and the verb together, like for example with B, the subject is "A yellow cake" and the verb is "are", so "A yellow cake ARE" doesn't fit because are is plural. But with option A, if you take out "at the library," it's "Students are meeting to study", which is right. "Students" is plural, so "are" is the right word to follow. :)
