logarithm ↓↓↓↓

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\log_{.5}8=x \]

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

\[\log_{0.5}8=\frac{\log8}{\log0.5}\] which you can find on a calculator... the log can be in base 10 or in base \(e\) (i.e. \(\ln\)).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so -3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

by the way no need of calculator 0.5 = 2^(-1) and 8 = 2^3

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

yes -3 :)

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

^hm true didn't think of that lol. I'm not used to simple logs anymore
