OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

I'm here but not much longer. DO you have a specific question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which point is located (-5, 4) 1.A 2.B 3.C 4.D

@mathstudent55

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

A point is called an ordered pair. It is called "ordered" because the order makes a difference. A point is (x, y). x comes first, then y.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh so it would be A

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

To read a point on the plane, first you must find the x coordinate. Since x is the horizontal axis (left-right), first see which value of x is aligned with your point. That means, start and the origin (the point (0, 0), where the axes intersect. Then see how far left or right you need to move to be directly above or below the point. That is the x-coordinate. Then see how far up or down you need to go to get to the poi9jt. that is the y-coordinate.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Correct, point A is (-5, 4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thx you so much i kinda understand it better

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Great. You're welcome.
