The answer would be "B. swimming"

i believe it's C) invited.

wich is right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not sure, but the definition of a participle is: a form of a verb that can function as a adjective to show "tense" of the action. ex. past, present, future. if taken as a adjective that describes a noun, swimming would be correct but so would tennis. if 2 answers can not be correct, then i would go with invited, the verb in the sentence.
