Simplify the expression: x^2+3x+2 / x +2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is a polynomial divided by a polynomial, and we will have to use polynomial long division to do this, sound familiar?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Factor x^2 + 3x + 2 which is (x+2) * (x+1) Then we will get (x+2) *(x+1) ------------- so just cancel common factor from (x+2 )numerator & denominator ..

Wait, what would the answer be if we canceled out the common factor from the numerator and denominator?
