What is 4x^2+12x+5 factored? PLEASE HELP ME!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Factored out? (2x +1) (2x + 5) You can see it in the 5, meaning the ends must be 5 and 1. ( + 5) ( + 1) You can figure out that in order to get a 12x, the only way to do it would be to multiply 1 by 2x, and 5 by 2x(You're looking for what adds up to 12x when multiplied by 5 then 1, so you can find the first part of the two binomials), so you'd end up with (2x +5)(2x+1)
