In 3 years' time Joanne will be twice as old as her daughter. If Joanne is 45 years old now, how old is her daughter? Solve and show all working out.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Joanne age =45. Daughters age in 3 years = x. So: 45+3 = 2x solve for x and later rest 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you mean by later rest 3?

OpenStudy (thesecret20111):

I'm not sure what he meant by that.. However just solve for x and you'll have your answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So would x=24?

OpenStudy (thesecret20111):

45+3 = 2x 48=2x x=24 so yep you're correct :)
