Assuming that there is no constant factor, what might the equation of this polynomial be if it's factorization is (x-2)(x-4)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just multiply the two factors

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What did you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4x^2-8x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is not correct. Did you FOIL it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah. (x-2)(x-4) x^2-4x-2x-2x x^2-4x-4x x^2-8x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In your second step x^2-4x-2x-2x in place of the trailing -2x, you should have got + 8 because -2 times -4 = 8

omg thanks stupid mistakes! :)
