OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Which part is giving you trouble?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't get how i'm suppose to do it

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Follow the steps they take. Find any mistakes they make. Describe what they should have done differently.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like how

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

I don't know, maybe look at what is printed there, and identify the steps they are taking?

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Here, I'll make up an example: 5x = 3x+6 5x-3x = 3x+6-3x -- I subtracted 3x from both sides 3x = 6 -- I made a mistake, 5x-3x=2x, not 3x 3x/3=6/3 -- divide both sides by 3 x=3 -- I made another mistake, 6/3 = 2, not 3

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

ironically, despite the two mistakes, I actually get the right answer, thus providing wrong whoever said "two wrongs don't make a right" :-)

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

uh, proving, not providing

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Anyhow, you need to check their work and make sure that it is all done correctly. If you don't know how to do it correctly yourself, this will be difficult, no doubt!
