Kennedy wanted to help South Vietnam from falling communist. With Johnson, scandals like the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution took place as well as many protests all over the US. Johnson came out of office as a let down. By the time Nixon came, he would finally pull troops out of Vietnam, but would later have his own scandals to worry about.
