What is the 8th term of the geometric sequence -1, 4, -16, ...?
darn cant find r orelse this question is a piece of cake D:
wait got it
Can't find what? Normally if I get stuck on a problem I try and use a geometric sequence calculator but I can't seem to get the right answer.
:)))
-1(-4)^8-1 = -65535
I love that you are helping me Dany but that isn't one of my multiple choice answers... here let me list them for you..
Thank you so much by the way :)
yup thats it :3 use the formula ar^n-1 so if u put -1 in and r as 4 and n as 1 you get -1 then u put 2 u get 4 then u put 3 u get -16
sorry not -4 just 4 okie?
Select one: A. 16,384 B. -4,096 C. 4,096 D. -16,384
ok let me try that!
wait is it -16384?
D :D
Your guess is as good as mine @Danyboii I'm a writer, not a mathematician. ;)
\[(-1)(4)^{8-1}\]
haha i used the formula lol :p at first i put the wrong value by mistake XD
16,384! :) yay thank you thank you.
@Danyboii I'm sorry, I'm such a bum. Could I ask what formula you used for this geometric sequence? Thank you for your time! :)
ar^n-1 :)
np :3
perfect! :)
a is the first term :3
