What are the factors of 3x2 + 10x + 8? (3x + 8)(x + 1) (3x + 1)(x + 8) (3x + 2)(x + 4) (3x + 4)(x + 2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@master50777 please help I get how to do it but this question is a bit more confusing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since it is multiple choice, you can simplify each of your answers and see if you 3x^2 + 10x + 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah but none of them add up to 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Notice how it is 3x^2, not x^2. You can add, but you have to multiply one of them by 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So is it C? @master50777

This is a video on how to use the box method to factor

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When you factor a lot, you'll be able to do these in your head.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But for now I reccomend learning this method

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh ok @master50777 Thank You

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer, by the way, should be D (the last one)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh ok i get it :D Thank you so much! @master50777
