What is diffrence between Mendels laws ofgenetics?

OpenStudy (tanya123):

The Law of Segregation states that the members of each pair of alleles separate when gametes are formed. A gamete will receive one allele or the other. The Law of Independent assortment states that two or more pairs of alleles segregate independently of one another during gamete formation, so basically the Law of Independent Assortment, also known as "Inheritance Law", means that the inheritance pattern of one trait will not affect the inheritance pattern of another.

Excellent! So from what i apprehent from what your answer, is that The law of Sagregation is that alleles for the same gene are separarted from each other during anaphase 1 of meiosis to produce gametes. And in The law of Independent Assortment the traits of a gene is inherited indepently of each other; for example the classical ratio 9:3:3:1. Thank you!
