OpenStudy (adunb8):

anyone know the answer or step by step would be helpful also! Thanks!

OpenStudy (kropot72):

You need to solve the following equation for Rm: \[11.81=\frac{12\times R _{m}}{R _{m}+25000}\]

OpenStudy (adunb8):

i got Rm to be = 1,547,431.45??

OpenStudy (kropot72):

My calculator gives 1.553947 Megohms.

OpenStudy (kropot72):

Or 1,553,947 ohms

OpenStudy (adunb8):

yea haha thank you!

OpenStudy (kropot72):

You're welcome :)

OpenStudy (adunb8):

@kropot72 i just checked my answer but the answer seem to be wrong... I got a hint saying. Any thought?

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Problem is failure to read the problem carefully. The problem requests the answer in mega ohms!

OpenStudy (kropot72):

@adunb8 My result posted above (rounded) is 1.554 mega ohms.

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Yep, @kropot72 you gave the correct answer (which can be verified by looking at the voltage drop across that proposed resistance with the current given). Not your responsibility to type in the answer in the correct units, even though you gave them :-)

OpenStudy (kropot72):

@whpalmer4 Thank you for your comments :)

OpenStudy (adunb8):

@whpalmer4 @kropot72 Thank you so much!

OpenStudy (kropot72):

You're welcome :)
