Estimate square root of -3; 14; 27; 90; -45; and 105 to the nearest integer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-3 has no real square root since it's a negative number. 14 is around 16 so sqrt(14) ≈ 4 27 is around 25 so sqrt(27) ≈ 5 90 is around 81 and 100 so sqrt(81) < sqrt(90) < sqrt(100). -45 is negative ... no real root. 105 is around 100 so sqrt(105) ≈ 10.

oh then what is the estimated square root of positive 3 and 45? @TurtleMuffin

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh. You want it to the nearest integer. In this case sqrt(14) would be 3.XXX since it's less than 16. sqrt(1) < sqrt(3) < sqrt(4). 1 < sqrt(3) < 2. sqrt(36) < sqrt(45) < sqrt(49) 6 < sqrt(45) < 7.

Disregard my first line. The answer would still be 4 since we're rounding up.
