United States intervened in Latin American affairs in order to stop the spread of communism. Many people had opinions about the U.S. intervention in Latin America.

OpenStudy (ria23):

American intervention in the Caribbean and Latin America, violates the sovereignty of other nations, not to mention the life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness of the peoples living in those countries. Is it not completely hypocritical when the Americans talk about these values at home, yet abroad they pursue a completely different policy.
