The cost of a student ticket to the school play is $7. Write an equation that correctly relates the total cost, c, for a particular number, s, of student tickets purchased. Identfy the independent and dependent variables

i already know that the cost of tickets C will equal the 7 dollars by the amount of tickets bought, but how do you put that in a equation

This question has been asked before so if you only want the answer you can search for it but if you want to completely understand the concept you should proceed to do it out with our help

Its as easy as writing what you just said into an equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

c = 7$ by s (tickets sold)

thx @Johnbc

Not a problem and as for the independent variable, we can see that the 7$ will never change so it is independent while the s and c are dependent upon how many tickets are bought at 7$ which makes it a dependent variable
