jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you're approaching x = 4 from the left so make a table that gets closer and closer to 4 (so have x = 2, x = 3, x = 3.5, x = 3.9, x = 3.99, etc etc)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x/(x-4) = 1 + 4/(x-4) compare with the parent function 1/x, what do you see?

im lost

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 + 4/(x-4) is the the function 1/x hat is shifted 4 units to the right and 1 unit up and got vertically stretched. so, |dw:1400470794631:dw|
