OpenStudy (elisaneedshelp):

OpenStudy (elisaneedshelp):

@ganeshie8 can you help me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There is more information in that problem that does not show up in the question you are asking. It would be nice to know that line MT is parallel to line RT as well as any additional information I may not be seeing?

OpenStudy (elisaneedshelp):

You just included all the info

OpenStudy (elisaneedshelp):

actually its NR parallel to MT

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

because NR parallel to MT, we can show that the two triangles are similar which means the proportion below is formed PN/PM = PR/PT

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

plug in the known info and solve for PT once you find PT, you can use it to find RT

OpenStudy (elisaneedshelp):

ok ill let you know when i get the answer

OpenStudy (elisaneedshelp):

i got 1.8 :) and do you notice any possible traps in this problem? like obstacles or stuff that can confuse when doing the problem

OpenStudy (elisaneedshelp):

my teacher wants us to write down traps

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

can you think of any ways to do the problem incorrectly?

OpenStudy (elisaneedshelp):

nop guess not cuz then it would be super stupid mistakes that dont make sense

OpenStudy (elisaneedshelp):

can i tag you in another question?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

sure go ahead
