OpenStudy (barrelracer011):

I need help to find 6 differences between Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini.

OpenStudy (barrelracer011):

I actually need two more for both of them

OpenStudy (conqueror):

Benito Amilcare Andrea Mussolini was an Italian politician, journalist, and leader of the National Fascist Party, ruling the country as Prime Minister from 1922 until his ousting in 1943. Adolf Hitler was an Austrian-born German politician and the leader of the Nazi Party. He was chancellor of Germany from 1933 to 1945 and dictator of Nazi Germany from 1934 to 1945.

OpenStudy (warriorz13):

Benito Mussolini never shared Hitler's obsession in wiping out the Jews in Europe. In fact, by 1943, most of Italian Jewry was unaffected and left alone, compared to what was happening in Germany and elsewhere. Maybe not at first but increasing cooperation with Nazi Germany culminated in the 1939 Pact of Steel. Influenced by Hitler, Mussolini began to introduce anti-Jewish legislation in Italy. And not just that BUT... Benito Mussolini was a fierce anti-Semite, who proudly said that his hatred for Jews preceded Adolf Hitler's and vowed to "destroy them all," according to previously unpublished diaries by the Fascist dictator's longtime mistress.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1) Hitler persecuted the Jews; Mussolini did not until he fell under the growing influence of Hitler 2) Hitler and the Nazis essentially demolished all political opposition once they gained power and continued their repression; Mussolini did the same thing early on but learned to work with different groups from the King (who still had some power) to the Church (which he respected in public if not in private...the Vatican State is due to Mussolini's recognition of the Church's sovereignty) 3) Hitler and the Nazis expelled or persecuted teachers, artists, etc.. anyone who was critical of the government; Mussolini and his fascists did the same thing but to a far lesser degree and without the racial overtones 4) Hitler aggressively pursued the restoration of Germany; Mussolini was not as aggressive and more cautious 5) Mussolini personally had a low opinion of Hitler in the beginning; Hitler had some respect for Mussolini if only for his fascist views 6) Hitler was actually more successful in building up Germany's infrastructure and putting people back to work (albeit at the cost of many personal freedoms); Mussolini's domestic policies had mixed results with high unemployment continuing to be a problem

OpenStudy (warriorz13):

Yep ;)

OpenStudy (warriorz13):

But still I got a decent answer

OpenStudy (warriorz13):

Have to give me credit for that

OpenStudy (warriorz13):

OpenStudy (barrelracer011):

OpenStudy (conqueror):
