When Gregor Mendel crossed true-breeding tall plants with true-breeding short plants, why was it impossible to observe segregation?

It was so because allele for tallness (T) is dominant over that of shortness (t). Thus when he crossed TT with tt, every plant got a genotype Tt which in turn imparted a phenotype TALL
