5x^(2)+60x+55 Factor out the GCF of 5 from the expression 5x^(2). 5(x^(2))+60x+55 Factor out the GCF of 5 from the expression 60x. 5(x^(2))+5(12x)+55 Factor out the GCF of 5 from the expression 55. 5(x^(2))+5(12x)+5(11) Factor out the GCF of 5 from 5x^(2)+60x+55. 5(x^(2)+12x+11) For a polynomial of the form x^(2)+bx+c, find two factors of c (11) that add up to b (12). In this problem 11*1=11 and 11+1=12, so insert 11 as the right hand term of one factor and 1 as the right-hand term of the other factor. 5(x+11)(x+1) Hope this helps. :)
